This watercolor painting of two abalone shells nestled together was so much fun to paint! Getting lost in the iridescence and intricate patterns was very meditative, and I hope that experience translates to the viewer. The smaller shell within the big shell also holds special meaning to me, as I painted this piece while I was pregnant with my first child! It would make a great gift for new or expecting mothers and parents, as well as ocean lovers and shell collectors.
